Tirupati, February 21, 2026: The Krishnadevaraya Educational & Cultural Association (KECA), a non-profit dedicated to empowering underprivileged meritorious students through scholarships and skill development, celebrated its Golden Jubilee today at the Amara Raja Campus Auditorium, Karakambadi, Tirupati.
Founded in the late 1960s and formally registered in 1974, KECA has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift economically disadvantaged rural youth through education. Over the past five decades, the Association has extended financial assistance of approximately Rs 5 crore, supporting more than 3,600 students. Each year, nearly 250 students benefit from scholarships totalling Rs 50 lakh.
KECA was envisioned by Smt. Aruna Kumari Galla and Dr. Ramachandra N. Galla, inspired by Sri P. Rajagopal Naidu, with a strong belief that the progress of any society is deeply rooted in the education of its people. Since inception, the Association has strived to provide quality education and enhance employability among rural youth.
Marking the Golden Jubilee milestone, Founder Member Smt. Aruna Kumari Galla announced a ₹1 crore donation to KECA from the proceeds of her autobiography – a gesture that received widespread appreciation during the celebrations.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests including – Shri K. Ram Mohan Naidu, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Maganti Murali Mohan, Chairman, Jayabheri Group & former MP, Shri Gurajala Jagan Mohan, MLA, Chittoor, Shri Galla Jayadev, Chairman, Amara Raja Group & former MP, Dr. Ramachandra N. Galla, Founder Member & Former President, KECA, Smt. Aruna Kumari Galla, Founder Member, Dr. Ramadevi Gourineni, President, KECA along with other esteemed members of the association.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri K. Ram Mohan Naidu said, “When opportunities are extended to talented rural youth, they can elevate the entire nation. KECA’s work over the last five decades is more than scholarship distribution — it is a movement for social transformation. Changing the life of one student means uplifting a family and shaping future generations. The Association promotes not only education, but also values, responsibility, and service.” He lauded Smt. Aruna Kumari Galla’s generous contribution, noting that the Galla family continues to set an inspiring example of giving back to society.
Special Guest Shri Galla Jayadev reaffirmed his commitment to educational initiatives, saying that giving back to society is a shared responsibility.
Founder Member Dr. Ramachandra Naidu Galla reflected on KECA’s journey, “I am proud that what began with support for a single student now shines as a beacon for thousands of families. Going forward, we aim to place stronger emphasis on personality development and holistic training.”
As part of the celebrations, KECA honored distinguished alumni, presented scholarships, and felicitated founders and donors for their contributions to the Association’s legacy. The event was attended by Vice President Umakanth, Treasurer Rallapalli Satish, Joint Secretary Balaji Kiran, and other members.
