Amara Raja extends special Care to a baby born in their migrant home shelter

Tirupati | 17th April, 2020:  With the announcement of lockdown on 24 March for 3 weeks (till 14 April 2020), the Industries across the country had to shut operations, depriving many of the migrant workers of their means of livelihood. This lockdown has further been extended till 3 May 2020 adding to their burden.

Amara Raja Group with ‘Responsibility” as one of its core value has always been proud of doing the right thing. Amara Raja Group has set up shelter camps for the migrant workers on their Karakambadi, Petamitta, ARGC and Digivamagam facility centers. They are also regularly monitoring the health of the migrant workers and providing them with daily essentials. In total they’re hosting more than 800 migrant workers and their families in these shelters.

Today, Dr. Rama Devi Gourineni, Co founder and Managing Director of Amara Raja Infra visited the shelter near the Amara Raja Head Quarters in Karakambadi, where about 190 people are staying, to oversee the hygiene practices and spent time with a mother who recently delivered a baby at the shelter. Dr Rama Devi checked the health of the baby, interacted with the mother and presented her with a kit of baby essentials.  Adding to that, some of Amara Raja employees have reached out to the family and provided them with clothes, a bed and other essentials that the family needs. Care, Compassion and spreading joy through The Amara Raja Way®.

The community in the camp expressed their gratitude for Dr. Rama Devi’s kind gesture. The smiles on the faces of the people in the camp shows that even simple acts of kindness can help people overcome the greatest of adversities. Amara Raja Group is committed to spreading these smiles during these trying times and will continue to extend the necessary support to the migrant laborers and their families sheltered in the camp in this time of crisis.
