Tirupati, December 16: In celebration of its 38th Foundation Day, Amara Raja Group organised a Road Safety Awareness Drive on December 16, 2023, aimed at raising awareness among Tirupati residents about the importance of using helmets for safe riding and fostering overall road safety habits. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Tirupati Traffic Police and Red FM Tirupati.
During the one-day drive, approximately 1,000 Amara Raja employees and students from Amara Raja Vidyalayam school created a 2-km human chain, holding placards and banners to promote road safety. The human chain was positioned between Leela Mahal Junction and Laxmipuram Junction.
The event was attended by Dr. Sirisha, Mayor, Tirupathi Municipality, Mrs. Haritha, Municipal Commissioner, Tirupathi, Mr. Kulashekar, Addl. Superintend of Police, Tirupathi District, Mr. Mudra Narayana, Dy Mayor, Tirupathi Municipality, and Mr. Narasappa, DSP, Tirupathi Traffic. The event was launched at the Indian Flag Post followed by the distribution of free helmets. Additionally, 2,000 free helmets were distributed at Laxmipuram Junction, Leela Mahal Junction, and Town Club to riders identified without helmets.
“In AP statistics show that nearly 10,000 deaths occur due to road accidents. As we complete 38 years of existence, we were keen on spreading awareness among the rapidly growing 2 and 4-wheeler users. The Road Safety Awareness Drive is a testament to our focus on making lives better with safety being of utmost importance,” says C Narasimhulu Naidu, COO, Amara Raja Group. The event featured the distribution of leaflets containing safety instructions, encouraging the public to exercise utmost caution while driving. Badges and caps were also be distributed to riders to promote safe riding habits. Amara Raja Group partnered with RED FM Tirupati to amplify the message on safe driving practices. The radio station conducted a 10-day campaign to engage with audiences and provide essential instructions.
