Group Company Amara Raja Power Systems Limited launches Packaged (pre-fabricated) Sub-Stations in exclusive partnership with Schneider Electric
Amara Raja Group and Schneider Electric India also signs a MoU to study the desirability and feasibility of a collaboration in the field of Micro-grid with Energy Storage
Tirupati, December 20th 2019: Amara Raja Power Systems Limited, a unit of Amara Raja Group, today announced the launch of package (prefabricated) substation. ARPSL has exclusively tied up with Schneider Electric India for Manufacturing & Selling in South India. As per the agreement signed, ARPSL will be manufacturing the vast and comprehensive range of products for the end consumer, while Schneider India will be providing the back-end technology.
Soon after the launch, another MoU was signed between the two companies to study the desirability and feasibility of a collaboration in the field of Micro-grid with Energy Storage.
Mr Vikramadithya Gourineni, MD and CEO, Amara Raja Power Systems Ltd and Mr Anil Chaudhry, Managing Director, Zone President, Schneider Electric India, unveiled the product in the presence of Chief Guest for foundation day celebrations Shri. K.V Chowdary, Dr Ramachandra N Galla, Founder Chairman, Amara Raja Group and Mr Jayadev Galla, Vice-Chairman & Co-Founder, Amara Raja Group.
Dubbed as the “The Efficient Solution for your electrical distribution network”, the PSS range of package substation is safe compared to traditional civil works substations, promises reduced cost and time of installations and is reliable, complying with the robust IEC 62271-202 standards. Schneider has an installed base of more than 100,000 package substations all over the world. The prefabricated substation is ready for installation at site. These are most preferred solutions nowadays as there are concerns regarding space, aesthetics and safety.

Highlighting its key benefits, Mr Vikramadithya Gourineni, MD and CEO, Amara Raja Power Systems Ltd, commented, “The package substation solution not only helps one to save on cost of land, but also removes the need for coordination with different suppliers, minimize cost pertaining to separate civil structures, reduces cost of cable laying between each equipment and other transportation cost. Safety is enhanced and installation time is reduced by a substantial degree, if compared to commissioning of traditional civil work substations.”
“Considering that urban land availability is at a premium, the PSS solution allows customers to get the same type of functionality as a traditional substation, but within a smaller footprint. It can be installed indoors and on rooftops as well.”, he added.
As a part of the Foundation Day celebrations, reiterating its commitment towards the community and its employees, Amara Raja Group also announced the opening of modernized departmental stores which cater to the company’s employees. The departmental stores started way back in 1998 with Co-op stores concept with few shareholders.
The installation of a utility scale Solar Power Plant at the parking area of the Karakambadi complex, with a total investment of Rs 22 Million was also inaugurated.
In addition to this, multiple exciting events were organized to observe the Foundation day, which received overwhelming participation from Amara Raja Group employees. Many awards were also handed out to the employees under various categories, recognizing their contribution to the company and on the job excellence.
